Luggage Forward shipping tags should not be altered, written on, crossed out, or modified in any way. Tags contain carrier barcodes, routing information, and tracking numbers that are scanned at multiple points throughout the shipping process. Any modification to a tag — even a small one — can interfere with scanning, cause routing errors, and put your shipment at risk.
Why tags must remain unaltered
Your shipping tag is the primary identifier for your bag throughout its entire journey. Carrier systems rely on accurate barcode scanning at every stage of transit. A tag that has been written on, marked up, or physically altered may not scan correctly, which can result in misrouting, delays, or your bag becoming separated from its record in the system.
If you notice an error on your tag
Do not attempt to correct an error on your tag yourself. If you believe there is incorrect information on your shipping label — such as a wrong address or bag category — contact our Client Experience Team immediately at +1 617-482-1100 or support@luggageforward.com. A Client Experience Representative will review your booking and arrange for a corrected label to be issued if needed.
If your tag is damaged
A tag that has been torn, soaked, or is no longer legible should not be used. Contact our Client Experience Team as soon as possible so a replacement can be arranged before your pickup date. Do not attempt to repair a damaged tag with tape or other materials — a replacement is the only acceptable solution.
A note on the information shown on your tag
Your tag will show the average shipping weight for your luggage category, Luggage Forward's contact number, and a carrier tracking number. For an explanation of what each of these means, see our article: What Are the Details on My Luggage Tags?
