Value Protection is Luggage Forward's declared value coverage, available for purchase at the time of booking. It allows you to declare a value for your shipment that more accurately reflects the worth of your contents, ensuring you are appropriately covered in the event of a loss.
How it works
Every Luggage Forward shipment includes standard coverage ($500.00) at no additional cost. Additional Value Protection can be purchased to extend that coverage and allow you to declare a higher value for your bags and their contents. The cost of Value Protection is calculated based on your declared value and is added to your shipment total at checkout before you confirm your booking.
Why it matters
Standard coverage may not fully reflect the value of everything inside your bags. If your shipment contains clothing, sports equipment, gifts, electronics, or other personal items of significant value, purchasing Value Protection ensures your coverage is commensurate with what you are shipping.
In the event of a lost item, the maximum reimbursement is the greater of the Double Money-Back Guarantee amount or your purchased Value Protection coverage. For shipments with contents of higher value, Value Protection is the most direct way to ensure you are fully protected.
What is not covered
Value Protection does not apply to items classified as Disallowed Goods. Shipments found to contain Disallowed Goods void both Value Protection and the Double Money-Back Guarantee. We recommend reviewing the list of Disallowed Goods before booking to ensure your contents are eligible for coverage.

Value Protection is selected during the checkout process.
